Do any of Y'all carry liability insurance? One of the places I hunt has decided I need $1,000,000 in liability insurance to keep hunting it.
I tried the NRA, but they said they don't insure anything over 5,000 acres. Thanks, David

u talkn insurance so if ur dogs or ur equipment damage the land owners game, cattle or equipment, the land owner can file a claim for the damage? It sounds like they hav found a way thats nearly impossible to meet to keep hunting and sounds like they dont want u or possibly any form of dogging on their property.

Contact farm bureau. Not sure on the cost but I know they offer umbrella liability policy for farmers that is 1mil for around 800 to 1000 a year. Check with progressive as well. Independant insurance writers can check around and get it cheaper some times. I have not checked on the price myself yet but just mentioned this on a post the other day. Set it up as a hog removal service on insurance and run it as a Buisiness. Then the insurance ensures it as a legitiment Buisiness and all ur expenses for such will become tax deduct able.

Ah ok. Wouldnt an affidavitt prepared and notorized by the county clerk be easier and cheaper? Just makr it where it reads that any and all injuries/deaths to u or others under ur "supervision" are at yaws risk and exempts the land owner from any and all such issues, including damage to yaws equipment and dogs.
As shotgun said, farm bureau, state farm, farmers and germania. And like he said again, have the policy written as business for legality and tax write off

yes I have used a [ liability waiver ] to access a spot . I would talk to the land owner about that . everybody that steps foot on the property has to sign one to release the land owner in case of accidents .

Yep, release of liability/hold harmless agreement should be all you need... that's all I've ever needed on the city properties I hunt.
If they want insurance, charge them to cover your costs.

I sure wish I could get away with the waiver, but the landowner says go get $1,000,000 insurance policy and you can hunt this place year round. I've paid to get onto a lease to run my dogs in the past. I am just looking at it ad though my premium will be my lease payment.

Go to the quality deer management association home page. Get a policy to cover the particular ranch. Much cheaper , should be around 350 a year.
