one of my first two hog dogs about 36 or so years back was a little female airedale.short distance, very gritty but had a bite that couldnt break eggs, lol. over the years ive owned and or hunted behind tons of dogs with varying degrees of airedale in em. i like the airedale crosses but i think irish terrier is grittier  than the airedale blood .

I ran more than a few years ago and they are very powerful dogs...have plenty of grit but they are not true catch dogs and not the best strike dogs either...

I used one to fight coyotes with the greyhounds. I bought him from a lady in hugh springs tx. She called me awhile back and had four for sale a little over a year old. Those dogs are really tuff as long as you stay away from the ones bred for show.

I was thinking on a Plott / Airedale. Cross?
Any one have luck with this ?
I heard of a bear hunter that did . His ran silent  , treed quick , and the bear stayed tree.

I want to hush the Plott but not dilute the hunt that they have . A touch more grit  but not too catchy .
Any words of wisdom would b greatly appreciated .
