Are there any Vets in this area that store dog semen and breed females? The main thing is a place to have semen shiped to and stored. If there is and you could give me the contact info, it would be greatly apreciated.

halfbreed, I checked with Willspoint and Forney and they don't store semen, so I am still looking.

yeah those two are the closest to this area but texas has a bunch .

bigo you can go to the ukc web forums and in the coonhounds section go to the bottom of page and use the search function and  enter collection  in the box and it will take you to some threads .

the best one on there is the collection facilty's [ usa ]    someone took the time to list everyone in the usa on there and they are busted up by states and you'll find a bunch on there , but most are south and west of northeast texas . and if you wanted to use one that far you might as well use nevergone in Oklahoma . which is where there is semen already stored for a stud I'm thinking on using next year .

just curious what you looking to get stored ?

Bigo, it's a long haul for you but Sam Castelberry out of Castroville, TX does a good job. I have used him before and plan on using him again to get a male collected soon.

halfbreed, It's not a done deal yet, but some semen from Bolivia. I've never been one for crossbreeding but I have to try this.

Bob,

Quite a ways from you, but I have a guy here close by that can do it if you run out of options.  I just had one of my males collected yesterday as a matter of fact.

John, the Bolivian dogs have been on this ranch in Bolivia for 200 years are more. They were used to work cattle and hunt Jaguars. This ranch is isolated and the dogs have run loose and interbred with only the best and strongest surviving to reproduce. In the pictures they sent, they look just like a lot of the cur dogs we use. They don't use them on cows much anymore but still hunt Jaguars with them.

They are not the ugly nosed dogs. They have a normal nose and look like cur dogs. I had the pictures in an email and they are not there anymore. I don't understand all I know about computers anyhow.

Look up Texas Canine Cryobank. It's an artificial insemination network of proven successful facilities worldwide. I found one for Dr. Michael Freeman in Edgewood, Texas. 903-896-4696. I will call him Monday and find out the details.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
