I just got back home to Washington state from my month of  hunting so I am back to being a wannabe hog hunter till next year. It was a very rewarding year as I brought a young bulldog prospect and he exceeded my expectations. We caught 42 while I was there and he handled some pretty good hogs while not taking any pokes or cuts. The last days hunt was very memorable as Jody Reat had seen a big track and we dropped on it. The dogs went a few circles and then got busy and bayed only a hundred yards away. We went in with 3 bulldogs. 2 littermates off Vegas/Big Mama and a half sis off Vegas/Simone. Turned loose from about 40yds from 2 diff directions and all 3 hit at the same time. had 2 ears and a cheek caught on a 190# boarhog. Not the track we saw. So we go a lil deeper on the property and recast. Just a few minutes we are bayed and we are in a bad thicket we cut the littermates and the bay breaks. Big boar goes by Jody just feet away. Edgar and Idabel stop him in a few hundred yards. This time he is in a shallow creek backed up in a wash. We get to downwind side and turn the bulldogs loose from about 40 yds again and again they slam him all together and he don't move a foot. Thomas legs him and we tie him haul him out on the wheeler. He was 230 and one mad sumgun. Great month of hunting capped by a memorable hunt. I would like to thank all those that make my hog hunting possible. It was great to meet Bryant on this trip and make a round in some beautiful country. We ended that hunt with his Traveler bay dog catching a boar on the ear and my Gus catchin on the cheek right below. That one went over 200# with about a 3" shank on that side. It was nice meeting you Bryant and thanks for a great hunt. T-dog and Jody thanks for everything, you guys go out of your way to always make my trip great. Thomas and I also made a quik run to Lafayette to visit my friend Floyd Boudreau and it was certainly nice to see him again. Now I just have to read ETHD and bide my time again.

Why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away? An elected legislature can trample a man's rights as easily as a king can!
