Have you looked at Bayer 12 Month Tree and Shrub, I've been using it for 6 months and haven't had any fleas on my dogs.  I used Frontline the 2 previous summers,at $90 a month with very little to no results.  I'm still on my first $20 bottle of Bayer.

Been using dominion tree and shrub, about the same as the bayer, same price too.

Admire is the best thing I have found but it is like $150 for a verry small bottle, maybe 20 oz.  Just having the bottle in your shed is enough to drive fleas away. Cheesy

I headed to Lowes today and ACE Hardware but they only had the fertilizer blend of the Bayer Tree & Shrub?? Also are you guys spraying down your yards with this stuff or just the kennel area?? I picked up some other stuff that hooks up to the hose and I will spray my whole yard with it but it is only good for 3 months so the Bayer is the better deal but I didn't want to buy it and it end up being the wrong one. I dipped my dogs a few weeks back and haven't seen the fleas around but want to spray something on the dirt and rocks to be safe.

I had problems finding the bayer without fertilizer also, that why I went with the dominion.

Found Merit 75wp insecticide which is a 2oz bottle, seems small but that 2 oz bottle is 75% imidacloprid (the active ingrediant in bayer and frontline) the bayer is 2.6% i think. this is $50 on ebay, but would probly last a very long time because of concentration.

TX HOG,

If you have a contact with an exterminator, they can get you Fipronil (active ingredient in Frontline) in a concentrated version.  This past Spring, we bought a liter of Fipronil for ~ $70.00   That amount of the concentration can last a LONG time.  Additionally, you can dilute it and spray your grounds with it.

The Bayer (imidichloriprid sp?) worked well for us for a couple of years, then it lost its effectiveness.  Early summer of 2009 we went to comfortis for flea control.  I have given the dogs one dose, I think it was in May or June, and have yet to dose them a second time. Not a flea on the place.

My dad and I use the Dominom and also put a cup of viniger in the dogs water buckets, it help with fleas and kill the mosqito larva.
