  This is one of the first vests I had. Not sure who made it but I got it from a friend around early 80's. It was made of heavy canvass from sling material. A little bulky but it never had any pass thrus.

the Crainers made some in the early 80's as well...bulky but guaranteed not to puncture IMO...
