So far to date my largest buck has been my hardest earned!! well now my smallest (other than a few spikes) is my hardest earned!!! I will start off with sat morning and how it has been since then !

Sat am and had a lot of action had does and yearlings feeding under me before daylight and until about 8 all in all i saw 9 does a button buck a cow horn spike and a good buck but he was way off then walkin to the truck i spooked another good buck !! they were feeding late! sat pm saw the same naner heads with yearlings and a lil four point!

this morning i could see a deer fedding around me in the moon light and come daylight i could see horns! i let him feed under me for about 15 mins and i noticed he had a bad limp so i decided to take him not to mention get the gitters out!!! well i smoked his AZZ perfect shot but i noticed a funny sound when i released!!?? I could see me arrow perfect pass through and it was sticking in the dirt about 6 inches!!! I ALWAYS wait at least an hour!! so i waited a lil while and watched a really good buck cross into the neighbors property!! and i did not want to spook him so i waited another 15 mins!!! well i climbed down and i heard a deer blow Huh?:why:  i was like damn i know that buck was long gone and then i eased a lil closer and it was MY deer WHAT?Huh??  :puke:  NO WAY !! so i backed out and went to breakfast with the ole lady and youngin !! i waited another good 3 hours !!!!! i went in to where i last seen him and blood every where but i could smell guts !!!?Huh? WTF !! i blood trailed that deer on my hands and knees for almost 2 hours and lost him good blood for 200 yards and it just stopped!!! well i went and got our ole barn dog he is outa my bluetick catahulas never really been hunted at all just hangs out and to top it off he is minus a leg !! but he has foun two other deer for me and never been trained !!! well he went right to it .. that deer was in some 10 foot tall palmmetters!! boy was i glad to see him I was starting to get sick !! I hate that feeling when you loose an animal !!! man i have only lost 3 animals and i loose sleep over that crap !!!! well I recovered the deer at 3 pm and he was shot at 7 am so i was kinda on the fence so i called the butcher and he said bring it down so he could look at it!! well he decided we could save the backstraps and hams !!! perfect i would have hated to ruin the whole animal !!! even worse because i normally would have not shot him!!!!

Well the reason behind all the confusion was he was quartering to me and i guess more than i thought (WAY MORE) i was sure that deer was going no where!!! well the arrow hit its mark maybe a lil low and forward but not much but it came out the belly and back through its opposite leg and through and STILL buried 6 inches into the dirt !! DAMN kinetic energy !!!!???

But i got him and it was not a total waste!!! good lookin lil buck and I got plenty of practice on my hound doggin skillz  !!! so if anyone needs any help hit me up !!!:toast: :biglaugh:

Ok my pos computer died on me working on down loading all the pics AGAIN :cuss:

ok here they are the first couple are of sat the one in the sights is a spike

entrance hole

and the 2 exits LOL:toast: where you see the guts comin out is the first exit and then the arrow went through the leg
