Ok guys. Just bought a 500 ranger. Shocks are turned up and bed is hitting tires when I hit a dip. Have small dog box and few dogs in back when this happens. What can be done to stiffing shocks up more. See a lot of y'all on here who hunt with rangers any help would be appreciated.

Moving the shocks out isn't too big of a deal. When you get your stock Ranger the shocks are kinda slanted inward on a mount. Well right on the outside of each of these mounts (at the top) theres another bracket you can kick your shocks out to. This will raise your front and rear end about an inch or two like a lift kit. also helps carry a better load. All you have to do is jack your ranger up, take the bolt out and move them out and put the bolt back in. Piece of cake.   The more technical part is twisting the shock at the bottom if you wanted to make a stiffer ride. Its a little silver piece on the bottom of all shocks and you can spin that around and make it 2 levels stiffer. Theres some Youtube videos on it ect.  If you plan on having a load in the back of your ranger and dogs ect this is a pretty good idea!

iv seen an extra gas shock mounted from the upper frame to the lower frame at or slightly below the rear diff on 4 wheelers. i don't see why you couldn't do the same for a ranger. it may take i lil stiffer shock for a ranger compared to a wheeler, but its doable, especially if you have a receiver hitch, or a place to bolt/mount a receiver hitch to. with rcvr, weld a bracket on that the shock mount hole will fit through, and do the same for the top and bolt it up. problably take no more than an hr to cut, weld and bolt it all together.

The dealership's mechanic told me to buy coil springs for full size Ranger and replace the ones I had on my 500. I ordered them online cheaper than getting from dealership, I used a press to help compress them when putting on the shock. It works great now.

I have a 700 ranger and ran 28s on it for a while hauling dogs with my shocks turned up and never any problem.  maybe the 700,800,900 have beefier shocks look into replacing them with the bigger rangers shocks
