Here we go Again....
I'm not posting the direct link, but someone sent it to me off of Facebook. Someone in TX thought it'd be a brilliant idea to post a pic of two injured hog dogs....with some pretty significant holes in em.....on their Facebook page. I have the person's name. Wonder if he's a member here. Anyhow, it caused a big stink and welfare agencies are pitching a fit.  A lot of anti dog interceptor are also raising cane over it. People.....please....keep the cut up dog photos to YOURSELVES. The world wide web does not need to see. The anti's do not need any more fuel for their fire.

I want to add....we all know our dogs get injured in the line of duty, as any working dog does. We just need to be smarter about not putting photos up like this, especially on social media. Even though that man's dogs surely were well tended to afterward, all the hundreds of idiots that have no clue about hunting see that photo, totally uneducated, and freak out, and it spreads like wildfire.

What chaps my tail worse than the ones that post the pics is the ones that defend them. I also like how the antis like to quote a law yet seem to forget to post the entire law that Actually shows the man was not in violation of any animal cruelty law. Smh.

Buddy of mine sent me a picture of his 2 dogs after a hard day of work. Then asked if i thought he'd get in trouble if he put those pics on facebook. I told him you wont get in troule but your letting the wrong people get the pictures. I honestly dont think some folks know any better..haha..Either way those kind of pictures dont belong on the internet and i cant tell you how much i honestly appreciate the folks that will take the time to clean up a hog and keep all the blood and what not off the web and out of the pictures.. Like somebody above said. Uneducated, inexperienced anti hunting , tree hugging critter kissers will take every little bit and blow it out of the water. I was watching some video about bay trials and some anti hunter made it and was calling it "hog dog fights" or something like that. It almost made me sick. They were saying how the "hog dog fighters" were even letting the children get involved...my god. If it keeps going like this it will be outlawed before long.

I remember the east texas catch dog trials and I distanced myself from them because I knew what was going to happen...a few months later it made the national enquirer magazine amongst a few others and they made it sound a lot worse than what it was...it catch dog competitions got shutdown pretty quick after that...

I believe hog dog trials should demand muzzles on the bay dogs...I don't care for a rule like that but all it takes is one dog neutering a hog and for that pic to get out...a muzzle on the dogs is a lot better than getting the baying contests banned or having to swap over to mechanical boars and bears like some states have had to do now...

Mr. Reuben, was that the ones somewhere over there around Lufkin or Nacogdoches? I remember going to one back in '92 or 93. We had a pretty good time there.

I read all the crap then actually posted the law they said he was breaking and pointed out the part past the first line and so ego interestingly enough not on their critter kisser sites that he in fact was exclude due to it being used in the act of hunting. Even gave the link to the state site that has the entire bill. But oh no they didn't want to see that and ignored it. Well beyond calling me a moron and a hick. Lol

Had this happen just today! Except it was two videos of two different dogs, laying on the ground with a few holes in them.  Of course a hunter made the comment about not posting them and here come all the "If you cant handle it then go somewhere else" and "Ill post what I want" comments. They don't understand that fellow hunters aren't whining about what's in the video but that they would like the sport to be around for the years to come. Send it to your friends and family who understand the sport, not the entire internet.

I can't understand why people write a story about a hunt and have to mention dogs getting injured. Really not much different other then we just don't see the injury. Why can't people just talk about the hunt and leave that part out?

I wish I could agree with you reuben but sadly after meeting some of the "hog hunters" around our area I know otherwise........some folks either just don't get it or just don't care...hell the last tournament we hunted there were guys there that had their damn cut down dogs with em in the same trailers as the hogs they were weighing in........ just makes you shake your head. Embarrassed

Justin...I once heard a man say we make rules and regulations to save us from ourselves...I agree with what he said...that old saying "THE FLESH IS WEAK" , is true...

We can continue to show up with cut down dogs and then let the general public side up with the anti's and create a law that will shutdown tournaments and stop the use of running hogs with dogs to boot...or we as hog doggers can create our own rules to protect our dogs better as well as create disqualifications when showing up with injured dogs and hogs at the tournaments...and also to kick them off the premises as well...and that includes spectators as well...sounds simple enough to me...
