Iv been out all day dipping dogs and puting 7 dust in the kennels and chain areas havent found a flea or tick on a dog yet. They dont seem to be to bad in my part of Oklahoma but i was at the inlaws a few weeks ago out towards elk city and he sure has um bad. I have started using that permethrin a page i stole out of Mr. Halfbreeds book sure seems to work good on my dogs and chickens and there pens. Just thought id start a little conversation out of boardum wait for it to cool off to go hunting.

yep as a matter of fact I've got to get busy on the yard with all this rain I haven't been able to mow or spray . I've picked a few ticks off of me all ready this year just from going out and feeding the dogs . them ticks love tall grass so they must be in heaven at my place now . those nemotodes do work Wilson but I haven't found any of these east texas idiots [ nurserys or feed stores ] that even know what I'm talking about . I didn't put them out for fleas but when in Waxahachie I would establish them in the garden so I wouldn't have to use pesticides . but the sun is shining and the grass is drying so i'll spend all day tomorrow mowing and spraying . that sucks lol .

Yep, it's time to get me some permethrin and start soaking some dogs...
I've got some but definitely not infested. I'd say the ticks are right on time....no sign of fleas as of now, and as sure as I hit post, the flea flood gate will open!

yes the nematodes I used you mixed in water and just used a garden sprayer and applied to the ground . they lay their eggs on a host be it flea , tick , aphids or whatever and the larva feed on the host killing it .

I'm no expert on them . I would just go to the boyce feed store in Waxahachie and ginger would fix me up . all I ever asked for was beneficial nemo's for my garden lol . I thought they were all the same .

They are horrible at my house, we treated the yard with granulars and dusted pens dipping dogs... Lots of work I feel like its not putting a dent in the fleas.

when you find you can't control them fleas my go to remedy is MARTIN'S I.G. REGULATOR . martins makes a good product . the i.g. regulator inhibits the larva from reaching adult biting stage thus ending the cycle . but with all this rain it is going to be he double l . everything you put down right now will just get diluted and become ineffective .

what about shade trees? I have many that help my dogs with shade during the hot Tx. summer months. I'd sure hate to loose any more besides the ones lost due to drought, and oak wilt.
