Ultrasonic Bark Control

Has anyone ever used one of the ultrasonic bark control devices?  Of course the people selling them say they work great, but I'd really like to hear of any of tall have used them.  The one I have been looking at is called the bark silencer and costs about $90.

I have been using Garmin bark limiters.. They work good, but if th dogs wear them for any period of time they get sores on their neck.

Never used one, but I'd get a regular Garmin ecollar so you can control the "correction" yourself.  You can control the level and when it happens, plus be able to use it to trash break etc. If the dogs are getting sores on their necks then I'd say it's not working for them.

I have one at my kennels...haven't even had it plugged in in a few years.  Didn't do anything but tick me off that I spent the money on it.  I wouldn't recommend.

Training collar doesn't have anything to do with bark control at kennels.  My kennels are a pretty good distance from my house...but not far enough that I can't hear dogs at times.  Problem is with 10-15 dogs, hard to tell which is barking.

I've had pretty good luck with the bark collars for the consistent barking dogs.  Trick is the same as using training collar to trash break or whatever...to take battery out and let dog wear it a few days before actually letting it do work.  Dogs figure out collars VERY fast and they'll quickly learn to not bark when wearing, and start right to raising hell the minute you take it off.

Agree 100%, they r some fast learners. Unfortunately i learned that to late. If i walk outside with a collar, the barkers shut up, i can put it on them and they wont say a peep. I take it off and put it up and they go back to barking. Now they have learned the rattle of the bb gun, but doesnt help if i have to rattle it everytime just to shut them up. If they wouldnt work as a team and chew the collars off each other, id keep a bark collar on them all the time, but they seem to work together to chew them off then chew it up beyond repair

That ultrasonic device I tried was a joke. It was around a 35$ unit so maybe a better quality one would have better results. I can promise you the cheap one didn't phase my muts.

Yea that's what I figured. Something that easy has to be too good to be true.

Yep bark collars and a bb gun in my yard. Dogs get wise but if one starts at it all the time I'll put the collar on for a week and I usually won't have an issue with that dog for a while after that. I got a bulldog that has it on more than not.When I get home in the middle of the night with pigs if he's not in the truck I'll put the collar on him before I start fooling with anything he's the instigater. Seems to work pretty good for me.

I have tried the  no bark house from academy with no luck on my dogs . I had to buy each one a bark collar and When I feed my dogs I move collar so it won't get the sores from the prongs ( you can't have collar to loose either )....,,,

It worked ok for one of my dogs but even the guy that sold it to me said it probably had an 80% fail rate.
