Haven't had mine since 2007 , started as a teenager in mid 80's , my grandfather from around sinton - odem had fowl and ran a brushpit down there , that's how I got into them , might start up again , my old blood is in my buddies yard and I miss the birds

I know that's right . what's sad is if people don't wake up all these hog doggers are going to be talking about the good ol days like we do about roosters lol . and your right about the old cockers they were a special breed and most were good as gold . I happen to be looking for a pair of good pure kelso hens if you know of some good ones around I lost my spangle hen this spring [ my fault ] to one of them high powered walker pups . I know where I can get some good radio or silver bullets them silver bullets are basically white kelso . but I'd sure like to find a good spangle without paying 500.00 lol

Been around them since the 3rd grade, used to go to copper state back in the day. Kerreydw if you don't mind me asking, besides the Kelso what else does your family run?

you are right...most are beautiful birds...we mostly raised mutt chickens and roosters for the eggs and to eat...back when I was a kid and was raised on the farm...but once in a while we had a fighting type roster pop up and I always staked my claim on them...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

I just recently got into raising some games myself. I purchased 2 kelso/hatch hens I also bought a spangled rooster mostly black with some white in his tail hes a medium size bird with yellow beak and legs. He has large comb and waddles so hes never been dubbed with white ear patches. Would anyone have a clue as to the breed of this bird?

that's how I raise them T.R. only the strongest and quickest get penned up around here lol I loose a lot to various critters but the cream rises to the top on the ones that make it . natural selection , nobody culls harder than mother nature .

I have 5 satags about 4 months old. I've got em penned up and wondered at what age should I dub them and after dubbing them what should I use to treat them with to keep germs out and begin the healing.......
