Me and the boys took flash cowboy and pumpkin the young dog out. Hit our first spot dogs hunted it pretty fast wasn't no action so we hit another spot. Cowboy is my big cat x fl cur dog he ain't been ran much cuz I don't run him when it's warm cuz he will run his self hot. Turn them back loose they take out in different directions bout 800 each way then come back and loop out pumpkin just hanging out bout 200 then cowboy come back to bout 250 flash is bout 600 still. We hear cowboy crying few times I look at Garmin and he was hauling butt cross this field by this time flash was on his trail then past him up they went bout 3/4 mile and stopped no barking or nothing so pumpkin was trying to figure out what to do then she heard a grunt and went and got a mouth full lol. Sent lil red cd just in case then she was screaming lol. Good hunt for cowboy and pumpkin

Ya that's why I said sows lol but I rarely get cut dogs on smaller pigs. Mainly cuz there caught on them and good vest makes the difference most of the time. Now if your calling a 1 to 2 nick a cut it happen I usely staple those and keep hunting. But yea if ya got tight baying dogs with no vest your right that is a deadly size

Ya Cracker most guys don't under stand my rough dogs don't bay 4 of them catch what ever they come across. Once the hog is caught and really with two dogs the hog loses his advantage of cutting the dogs but you can't be on a Sunday stroll lol. Even my loose dogs will catch if the hog sets up to long with out giving a little attitude.

I've had many folks tell me man the 125# hogs with shanks are the dog killers and maybe so but in my experience those little hogs are just little hogs and are easily handled by the dogs. The one that wreck dogs are #250 and up with shanks that know how to fight.

Yes sir the problem is the dogs that bay real tight but don't back up or commit to catch are the ones that take the most damage imo. A buddy that I hunt with had some good tight baying dogs got on a big one and killed one and was working the others over if I had not let my two curs go they would have all been dead

All hogs are athletic try to grab one with out a dog on it lol. But ya smaller teeth tend to be sharper I have caught some very athletic hogs 250 with small teeth and big teeth. It really comes down to what the dog is doing not the hog. Hogs do the same thing they set there wound up and pop a dog that's to close or not paying attention to the hog and that when they get sliced. I would say if the dog is getting cut by average boars with any size teeth on a regular basis then I tend to think the dog is fighting the hog not baying or trying to catch that's the dogs that take a lot of damages

It is totally dependent on the dogs what I was saying is when we catch a hog not bay a hog that the smaller ones are easily controlled and hardly ever cut any of my dogs its the big boars with the weight to move a dog that cut them just my experience and the bigger the more athletic they are the hardest to stop and catch.
