Long but good hunt Saturday night. Blake brought Doc, Dave brought Wyatt, Jeff brought Domino (CD), and I brought Fred and PJ (CD). Turned out around 7 into the river bottoms. Dogs got out and started getting busy. Doc went one way, Fred and Wyatt went another. After about 15-20 mins Doc sounded off around 300 yards out. We started to head to him, but it wasn’t a solid bay yet. He went another 2-300 yards from that spot and came bayed pretty good. We got within 300 and could tell that it was walking on him, so once we got within 200 yards I cut PJ to them to try and put the brakes on em. The bay broke and went another 300 yards out, and Doc and PJ finally got it stopped in the bottom of a creek with a good 25ft drop. Doc rolled out as soon as David got down to PJ, and headed towards Fred and Wyatt. While all of this is going on Fred and Wyatt were coming on and off of being on point .9 miles away across the river. By the time we got the hog out, backstraps cut out, and gathered our composure, Fred and Wyatt had made their way back onto our side of the river. Doc was a couple hundred yards from them at this point, and we started heading in between them out at 600 yards, and the truck. By the time we got within 300 yards you could hear the bay really good. All the dogs were together and had a good group bayed up. Jeff and I cut Domino and PJ to them when we got about 100 yards out. Ended up catching a 80-100lbs sow out of that group, and decided to call it a night. After a long, muddy, cold, and wet trip back to the truck we called it a night. Good hunt guys! As sore as I am from putting 5.5 miles down on foot through some of the thickest mud, brush, thorns, and water I’ve been in a while, it feels good to be back at it again.

Took about an hour to thaw out after that one! Pretty sure we all got wet, but it was a blast! Domino was sure glad to put his teeth on one after sitting out all deer season. He was fired up!

I was frozen, yes he was! I think him and PJ got into something with some teeth cause PJ is cut on inside of her front leg. Not too bad, but there was a dude in there that definitely got her pretty good. Makes me wonder about how big it was since they/she obviously didn't win... Lol
