Forgot to add that boiled noodles added in a meal every other day will help with the carbs, and help them maintain energy, in return have excess energy which in return will lead to excess weight.

Google satin balls, it will really help and put the weight on quick, it wouldn't hurt to give them the safe guard 5-7 days in a row just to be sure they are treated good, but those satin balls are really good, make sure they are where they can stay warm, a shivering dog is burning calories and losing weight and if they are skin and bones they need all the weight they can get.

Lol good ole satin balls. I have used them in the past with good success. I am having issues with a dog now and I think I'm going to go back to the well again with the satin balls.

And do I cook the hamburger meat or feed it raw too?

ALWAYS FEED MEAT RAW.  WHEN YOU COOK MEAT, IT COOKS ALL THE GOOD STUFF OUT.  K9'S ARE DESIGNED TO EAT RAW MEAT.  DOMESTIC DOGS ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN A WOLF,COYOTE OR FOX.  THEY THRIVE ON RAW MEAT AND BONE.  K9S DIGESTIVE ENZYMES AND STOMACH ACIDS ARE MANY TIMES STRONGER THAN HUMANS.  THIS IS WHY YOUR DOG CAN EAT A DEAD ANIMAL, OR DRINK OUT OF A MUD PUDDLE AND NOT GET SICK.  IF WE DID THAT, WE WOULD GET E-COLI OR DISENTARY.

Thanks where can I get Droncit at?

YOU CAN GET DRONCIT PILLS AT THE VET.  JUST TELL THE VET YOUR DOG HAS TAPEWORMS.  TELL HIM YOU SAW THE TAPEWORMS SEGMENTS IN HIS STOOL AND THEY LOOKED LIKE GRAINS OF RICE THAT WERE "WIGGLING".  HE WILL FIGURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT AND PROBABLY GIVE YOU THE PILLS WITHOUT MAKING YOU BRING THE DOG IN.  1 PILL PER 15 LBS BODY WEIGHT.

Dogs don't have the same digestive system  we do.     Noodles and pastas will not have the same nutritional value to them because their digestive track is not designed for breaking down and use this type of complex carbohydrates.  They make use of simple carbohydrates though.     What we know about our own digestive systems does not closely mimic that of dogs and thus lots of things like this are done with really good intentions but have little nutritional value to a dog.

This worked for me on several dogs (including skinny mama dogs)...All they can eat of good digestible dog food, catfish feed, and tuna fish in olive oil. Worming and Warmth is just as important....

C-O-R-R-E-C-T.  k9's do not have access to carbohydrates in the wild.  Therefore, they were designed and have evolved to thrive on a diet of protein, fat and bone.  What K9's use for energy is animal fat.  Their systems are designed to run on fat for energy, this is where they get their fuel.  K9's produce energy from protein, fat and bone through a process called gluconeogenesis.  When you feed a K9 carbs, it alters the way their body is designed to produce energy.  However, K9's will use and burn the carbs, it's jut not a natural process.  It is correct that carbs have little nutritional value to dogs.  However, if you did give the dog some noodles, it won't hurt them in any way.  It's just not as much bang for the buck as using fat.

Y'all ever seen those tents set up saying like "20 ribeyes for $25" I'm thinking next time I see one I might have to pick up a case or 2. Figure it would be good to be able to throw a skinny dog a raw steak or 2 a day to supplement the dog food and try to pack on weight. My 2 friends I hunt with each have a dog that seem to be real hard keepers. Ones a big hound cross cur dog and the other is a bird dog cur cross

I didn't read everyone's post so I'm probably going to say the same as some of the others. If you don't really know anything about the dog then go to the vet and tell them you want the pill that kills all worms,  They will give you two pills one for that day and one for two weeks later, also give it about 3/10cc of ivermec, and buy you a red bag of Victor dog feed which it's 24/20 and within two weeks you want be able to recognize the dog.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk that's what I was thinking.  I'd hate giving steaks to the dog about as much as I hate putting beer on corn for hog traps. But I will admit to buying the dogs a burger in the drive through at Wendy's after they worked real hard and I was still all fired up about the big hog in the back of the truck...lol

My dog never really stops eating LOL. she gets five cups a food a day and whatever I use for training, plus table scraps. she takes it all with a smile and begs for more. my dog should be as big as a house with the way she eats and she stayed thin all winter.

Like they said make sure they're free of worms and nothing else is wrong. I just tried something with a gyp nursing pups that I've never done before. I used to feed puppy food to them, chicken thighs, powdered milk and was able to keep them in decent shape while nursing, they always ate the chicken but would tire out with their food and kind of just quit eating. So on this gyp I'm just feeding her, her normal feed( sportmix 24/20) and putting wheat germ oil in her feed. It's for horses but says it's OK for dogs. And she's absolutely butterball fat and full of milk.

Ok. What do I need to get to worm all my dogs and get them as worm free as possible. Can someone walk me through it. I have my dogs on self feeders, feeding diamond high energy, hunt 2-4 nights a week but alternate all but 1 of my dogs. Right now none of them look like I'd like them to. I wormed about 3 months ago with ivermectin The cow paste. Hit them all with a fingertip full 3 days in a row.
