Another one of my pet peeves. I call this the Trans Texas Land Grab. This is why I think I should run for governor. I can't imagine how a toll road (foreign owned) that doesn't go to or from major points of commerce can help to alleviate congestion in major cities. Do they think we are stupid?

"Let me put a toll road in on 35 south between Laredo and SA and on up from there, and it will relieve traffic congestion in Austin, Houston, and Dallas."

Yeah, and I have some prime ocean front real estate for sale in Austin if the state is buying.

Grrrrrr.....
If you are interested, check out this site. I have a real problem with the state doing something that will impact us so heavily and never sending it to the voting public. Let's see how WE feel about the TTC coming through and go from there. Also, it would be nice to have all the facts and not the run around.

I'd vote for you... you need to check up with Ron Paul, maybe you 2 can make this country work again! Based on the ammount of replys from this post seems Texas has the same porblem as the rest of the nation... d a m n shame.

At least 2 of you would stand and fight...

latino, i think you might first consider that you posted this on a hog hunting forum(in reference to your comment about the number of replies to this post). most people don't want to come on here and talk politics, they come here to talk about hogs. i think that would better explain the lack of replies...

A stranger was seated next to a little girl on the airplane when the

stranger turned to her and said, 'Let's talk. I've heard that flights go

quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.'

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and

said to the stranger, 'What would you like to talk about?'

'Oh, I don't know,' said the stranger. 'How about Politics?' and he smiles.

'OK, ' she said. 'That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a

question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass -

Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty,

and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?'

The stranger, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence,

thinks about it and says, 'Hmmm, I have no idea.'

To which the littl e girl replies, 'Do you really feel qualified

to discuss politics when you don't know number 2?

I'm not much for politics. I think most politicians are crooked as the day is long.

Ya all are something... this was never about politic, it was about standing up for your rights and letting the great state of TX know how you feel. Alas I receive the same responses I receive from the rest of America...

"I don't have the mental capacity to understand politics..."  Grin

"This is a hog hunting forum... doesn't matter if you post in the "GENERAL DISCUSSION" CATEGORY... it should all be about hog hunting!  Shocked

"It's out of my hands..."  Wink

No wonder we're in the shape were in as a country... everyone wants to sit on their a s s e s and say "Not my problem, I wonder who won American Idol tonight???"!  :Smiley

I bet on election day everyone here is out hog hunting instead of voting... well, maybe 3 of you will vote (Adding Kevin as he seems to stand up), that's about the national average.  :'(

What ever happened to the great state of TX and "Don't mess with TX"?

I know, it must be all those d a m n yankees and wetbacks... that's what happens when you sit on your a s s e s and don't fight for your rights...

well, it's the easiest thing in the world to sit and judge others. takes no effort at all, and no validation on your part. if you feel that strongly about the issues, then run for office and make those changes you feel that none of us care about. i personally won't be judged on the issues because of what i post(or don't post) on a hog hunting forum. if i'm going to get involved in something like this, it won't be on a hunting website...

Latino,

I come to the site to talk dogs, hogs, and gardening Grin not politics

Honestly, I have my own personal feelings about the TTC, and I doubt they matter to any of you. I vote with how I feel, and what I believe. I don't need to discuss it on a hog dogging board, and I don't need to read this
Quote

to get me motivated.
For the record, I did not see where your initial post was looking for discussion, as much as it was trying to get some awareness about the TTC.
Don't get me started about not fighting for our rights either.  My vote and yours count the same.  We are on the same team, but don't hold it against me that I am not posting about it. All I have to do is vote to be heard.

Born and raised in CA... left in 1987 after graduating High School and moved to Orange, TX with a nickel between me and my buddy when we got there. I live in Louisiana now and am doing quite well.

Leaving CA will be the best move you ever made, I'll wager money on that! My parents moved to NC about 2 years ago... welcome to the south!

being your a yankee from CA doesnt that make you part of the problem?

OK, I'm sorry I brought politics into this. From now on, the only politics we will talk about will be my own campaign for Texas Governor.  Grin

You got my vote Mandi!!

Funny how Latino can judge folks. He or she doesn't know me from Adam. I doubt Latino knows very many of us here. The fact I don't like politicians or politics doesn't mean I don't vote.

If I want to talk politics I'll do it elsewhere. Here I like to hear about hogs and hog hunting, along with other fun stuff. Politics ain't fun.

No Flatbroke... the problem is no one stands up for their rights anymore. The TTC is a big issue, in your backyard... to be quite honest, here in Louisiana we'd consider you a yankee, so your wanting to label me is subjective and childish at best. I would expect more from an older gentleman such as yourself.

Mley1, no politics ain't fun, they're a necessary evil... but thats your excuse for doing nothing and letting Spain come in, build a "Toll Road" from Mexico to Canada through your backyard, flood Texas and the rest of the US with "Legal Aliens" then that is your poragative. Did you know your TX government just passed a law stating border patrol agents are to "overlook" any illegal alien carring under 250lbs of illegal drugs? That will be great for yours and my comunity!

And to anyone who sees a corilation between gardening and hog hunting and not current events is walking around with blinders, and again, that is our problem in todays society... no one wants to do anything until it directly effects them, but then it is usually to late.

Circle C... keep candy coating your reasoning... cause I seriously doubt you will get the oppertunity to "Vote and be herd" on this on. Your buddy Pres Bush can push this one through all by himself while people like you keep gardening.

Sean,
How did I judge you? Did I call you out directly until now... or did you judge yourself based on a generalized statement I made to the board?

FYI, if you label a category as "GENERAL DISCUSSION", I kninda see it as that. If it had read "GENERAL HOG DISCUSSION" I would have never made this post on your board sir.

Latino, lets get something straight right now. You don't know me. You don't know how active or inactive I may be in politics. So get off your high horse and start being more respectfull on this forum. I'm quite aware of the issue's at hand. But, I chose NOT to run my head on a hunting forum regarding these particular issue's. I'm also quite aware of the problem with illegal aliens. I've been with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for more than 25yrs. And, yes I am aware of the issue with the border patrol. I have friends who are border patrol agents.

My suggestion to you is to be a bit more respectfull on this forum bud. You ain't making any friends by shooting insults at folks. I won't warn you again on this subject. This topic is locked.
