Once again Walker county Sheriffs office is dropping the ball. A lady shot a friend of mines hog dog and missed another this morning. The dogs started out on a land that they had the permission to hunt, struck a bay and followed hog onto the ladies property where she shot the dog with a shotgun. Of course once Walker county got there they automatically wanted to blame the dog. Dumb ass sheriff told me the dog was trespassing, I told him the dog didn't know how to read but I do and I quoted him a couple of penal codes and he said that doesn't matter the DA won't prosecute someone shooting a dog. Dog rights always in jeopardy at the hands of idiots .

Just seen this on Facebook. Sorry to hear it man. Did the lady even try to make an excuse for why she shot the dog? .... it just baffles me. I've culled plenty dogs but how someone can shoot one for no damn reason is just beyond me. And another thing that is beyond me is why any land owner would be upset about you taking a hog off of their place. They're depredating, and pretty dangerous vermin with no working place in our ecosystem... This topic will get me fired up more than anything.
Again my condolences to you and I hope that ignorant lady gets what the law statutes says she should have coming!

sorry to hear about your friends dog. i know here in california she would be well within her rights to shoot any dog on her property pursueing or threatening any wild or domestic animal. and i was told in court years back that the minute my dog went onto a property i was guilty of hunting tresspass. he said our dogs were acting as our agents.
