I got a redbone dog that will take a track and hunt out deep in fresh sign but if no sign he stays close range. Any tips on getting him to go hunt deep in no sign?

keep the dog leased or kenneled until time to hunt...unload him where you want him to cast out...turn him loose and kick back for a while and he will roll out...if you hunt at a fast pace the dog will be more interested in keeping up with you instead of hunting...sometimes the right handling is all that is needed for some dogs...good luck...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...

What I've seen done and I've tried it on more than one dog and have seen the results. Next time you cast him and he doesn't want to roll out, catch him and tie him up to where he can't sit down or get comfortable without choking himself, leave him like that for several hours and continue your hunt, the key to it is making him realize that being around you or the truck isn't comfortable for him, would be even better if you could have a bay where he could here it and still leave him tied up, after a couple sessions of that they've usually casted out after that.
