Got a astro 320 with dc 40 collars and everything has been updated and I loose communication with  dogs at 250 yards and never picks back up. I have long range antennas on everything and I just don't know why it does it any idea?

Justin I've been hearing where the alpha blocks out signal to the 320 somehow ..

hmmmm, I haven't heard that but it could very well have been the problem with mine. It seemed to act right this weekend after I updated everything  but I was having hell with it before and 75% of the time Im hunting with a guy that has the alpha so it is possible. Thanks

Make sure connection where antenna gets screwed down is clean onbothsides.
If hand held is updated and so are collars, update each collar to hand held.
Communicate with collar, click on dog.  Once you get to the stats of that collar hit menu, and it'll pull up update collar. Update each collar to hand held by itself. Turn off collar move on to next.
Have you tried that?

check you ID'S on your collar, the last #( example) if you have a 12 id and you or some one in your party has  any collar ending in a 2 ( ex. 2,12,22,32) that is the reason, switch ID#

Is your buddy able to track the collars further than you are?  If so that directly points to your Astro as the problem.  They have a wire that runs from the antenna connection into the guts of the Astro that has known to break.  If updates don't fix the problem it is time to contact Garmin. 1-800-1020
