Have you tried feeding it softened puppy food?

I have never seen it but the old timers call it sour milk...the mama dog gets an infection in her milk and passes it on to the pups...it can kill all the pups that are still suckling...just another obtain to explore...

Yes they've all been eating watered down puppy food for 4 or 5 days now.

Dang. I've never even heard of that Ruben.  There's 7 pups. So far this is the only one acting crazy. There was one (I'm thinking this one) that was a little reserved yesterday.  But nothing that made me worry. Everybody ate good when I brought feed out there. Also there not on dirt. Have never even seen the ground yet if that helps any. Reckon I should separate everybody from the mama for a while? I've already got this sick pup seperated.

No sir. All the other pups are still fine this morning as well. This one pup is still sick. More diarrhea again this morning. She ate a little on her own. And I've been giving water orally. She pees and it's not super dark yellow. This doesn't sound like parvo to me. Does it to yall? Any more advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank yall.

If the pup were mine, I would give some albon and get some IV fluids in it under the skin. I would also give it some pepto bismol or something to settle its stomach. If the pup were to show a dramatic improvement, I would still stay on the albon at least 5 days.

Pups gums are good. I have been staying on the fluids (orally). The pup ate a good bit about 30 min ago. When it pooped it was still diarrhea but had some texture to it. The skin behind the neck returns to normal real quick when I pick up on it. When I mash on the gums the pink color also returns like normal. The pup is also active to the point that it wrestles with my hand pretty aggressively.

Did some research on coccidia.  It does seem to be the symptoms.  And albon is a treatment for it. It that stuff prescription  only?

One drop of liquid grapefruit seed extract three times a day for three days will clear up most stomach bugs

Puppies don't vomit if they have coccidia, they just have runny, mucous stools.  But while we are on the subject of coccidia, here is a little known preventative.  Go to your local feed store and purchase something called "CORRID".  It is for scouring calves.  It used to come in 1 gallon jugs, but now they sell it in a small bottle.  Put a capful in the pups' drinking water and change the water everyday.  Pups don't get coccidia until after they start to walk and eat food on their own.  What spreads coccidia is this . . . 1) the pups begin to explore the pen.  2) they poop on the ground of the pen, instead of in the dog house.  3) they step in feces.  4) they then step in the water bowl.  5) they then drink the water.  As long as the puppies are nursing milk only, they won't get cociddia.  Also the mother's instincts are to eat the pup's stool, so the pups remain clean inside the dog house.  It is only after the pups begin to walk and explore the pen, and start pooping outside the dog house, is when they can get coccidia.  Also around this same time, 5 weeks, is when the mother will stop eating the puppies' stool.

CORRID works as a coccidia preventative on puppies (NOT A CURE).  However, if you will water the puppies in a small water bowl, and change the water everyday, and ad a capful of CORRID to the water each time, then your pups won't get coccidia.

PS.  I would highly doubt if the pup had coccidia or giardia.  It is very unlikely that "one puppy" in a pen would have coccidia and not have spread it to the other pups.

Thanks for that info red river...if not coccidia what do you think it may be?  The pup only vomited a little bit. It hasn't vomited anymore.  Now just runny mucous stools. With a tad bit of blood in it. The stools are actually starting to firm up a bit as well.

sounds to me like coccidiosis.  there is a med you can buy online called toltrazunil 5 percent. used mainly in horses that is excellent on cocc  I give it to my puppies when their eyes open at .1 cc per lb.  I have found that most of my problems at the kennels on puppies is related to cocci. Do your research on the med and see if it is something you can use. Albon is the standard treatment for cocci and is Rx only.I like the Toltra because you only have to give it once not for 10 days.
