I did one once with a rubber band when he was older, I'll never do that again, it was very unpleasant for the pup and very nasty, I try to dock a little off the tail of every litter I raise, do it with a pair of wire cutters under a week old and they won't even whimper, I can't stand a tail knocking around in the dog box when I'm trying to listen for something and a busted tail tip never heals up on a wiry dog.

I can take pics this evening if you would like. Just docked at 6 weeks on my feist pups. I have docked a 6 month olds and ended up having to make my hound a 3/4 tail when he got an infection in his tail from a coon bite. Doesn't hurt.

I don't have none of the 6 month old and may can find one of my hound. I don't have either of them any more. But if I can get my hands on my lil feist pup I'll post it!
