I posted this on FB, but this site right here is the sole reason I got to raise, own, and hunt the best dog that has stepped foot on my yard.  I lost him this Labor Day to a medical ordeal, instead of a hog, but gone is gone.  I don't brag on dogs often, but he's dead now and he was all HOG DOG from the word go.  He was just shy of 4 years old, and I never did get to breed him.  I reckon it just wasn't in the cards for it to happen.  He gave 100% no matter when or where you dropped him, and no matter how hard you hunted him. He was just a pleasure to hunt.  He wasn't the best by no means, but I'd drop him with any dog out there, and whether or not he got smoked or showed out, I'd still smile cuz he was just fun to hunt. I have a lot of memories of some stud Barrs and Boars with this joker, so I reckon I'll hang his collar on the wall somewhere in the house, so when I look at it, I can remember a few of em.

RIP Cobb

Thanks Casey, VanDorn, and Tshelly for one of the trashiest pups I ever raised!

I've been fortunate to hunt with Cobb many times.  I guess I've seen him 30 times or more in the woods and I saw him on his last day.  Ben's description of Cobb is accurate.  I got away from cur dogs many years ago because I haven't found many that hunt the way I want them to but, Cobb was an exception.  If cur dogs came around like Cobb all the time, I would have a yard full just like him.  He was a real deal dog and was 100% hunt 100% of the time.

Thanks guys, It sure knocked the wind out of me.

I'd like to say I do Larry, but its my own damn fault that I don't.  I got a brother and sister to him from another litter.  I guess now I'm fixing to go to starting em, and seeing just what kind of dogs they're going to make.  They got big shoes to fill that's for sure.
