I don't think yall hunt much different than we do ...... I think its terrain that makes most hunt the way they do ......  I'd love to see the country ....there  is  no here  here  that if  you listen you gonna  here a highway or  something  buzzing all day ..... how ould  it be  to not here  anything but what sounds the woods  make again like when I was a kid .... hahaaha  hey when I was a kid  it was  dark when it  got dark and you  didn't  here  nothing  if  you got lost  in it ...... anyway  good  picture's ......  hey one   question  does  anyone casterate to boars  there ?

yeah i know what your saying. my main property at the moment is very steep in parts so thats my reason for hunting from the ute, too dangerous from the atv and too strenuous on foot. what size are the average properties that you guys hunt??. my main 2 properties are only around 1000acres (450 hectares?) reasonably small in my opinion. although further 'out west' the are substantially bigger 10 000 acres and larger. Im lucky in that my best property is a couple miles from the nearest public road, access is through 3 other properties so poaching isnt an issue and listening out for a bark or squeel is easy.
some people do castrate boars, but here in australia it is illegal to release a feral pig once caught so although it does happen its not very common at all (ive only caught one castrated boar in my 17yrs of hunting). A castrated boar here is called a 'barra'.

we own quite a bit of property here so I'm trying to remove the pigs  when I hunt ....also we have  property we lease for hunting all together I have  probably  16 thousand acres to hunt but this river system  here  is a pain .....I love  it  and as raised  on it but if they cross its  40 miles to drive around to the other side .... my  dogs would run off a 1000  acres  perty fast ..... it looks  so open where ya'll hunt is most of it like that ? and  we  call a cut boar a barhog ...... if you ever get to the states  you welcome  to come stay and hunt a few days or so .....

Thanks for the offer parker. Most of the country i hunt the woods are reasonably open. They do have some fairly thick places  in patches.im hunting for a boar competition this weekend so ill take some pictures of the country for you guys.

Amokabs -that black and white hairy dog was a bitch i used to own. Wolfhound x bullarab , very hard dog and even harder headed out hunting. Passed her onto a young fella but he lost her to a snake bite.

Do you guys prefer to cut the boars once there mature or do you think it doesn't matter?
Most people here  do the boars young. I was under the impression that the younger you do it the better the result.

yes.
I have always ran finder/holders. My little brown bitch is a bay dog at heart. Since she has always ran with holders she will only bay on her own and is a soft holder when she does go in.
I cant stand barking dogs, i know its a different story on a hunt but the quieter the better for me, especially when im after more than 1 pig from a mob. Most aussies seem to run finder/holders
