Had some kids trying to break into some houses in my neighborhood. I heard some loud banging right outside my bedroom i went outside to look and some kids was trying bust down the door on the side of the gurage next door i yelled at him then i noticed 3 other kids running from different houses to the suburban they were driving. Anyhow some of other neighbors and i called 911 they ended up catching them but im not sure what happen to them i just know they had reports of them egging houses too. Well im gonna have to get a bigger yard dog  i dont think they were to worry about my little dog  i let loose in the yard. This really  pisses me off cant belive the balls some kids got i could of sworn i heard a jiggle on my front door. Ive just had someone take my girls purse less then  a month ago from my driveway. Well i needed to vent a little  and go ahead get my oldest girl caught up on some home protection, get a big dog and some cameras.
Pretty bad start to my holiday break.

If yall have advice as far as cameras,  home protection,  and anything helpful please share.

Dallas, I have to ask, are the little Jagd's capable of repelling intruders? I had a pair of pits for 15 years, they ran loose in the back yard. I had bikers for nieghbors, painters at my house that have done hard time, I can assure you they wanted nothing to do with them.

Great with the nieghborhood kids, but they would not tolerate people around the house when I was gone. I rescued both of them

This is the situatkon where a big ol Rebel Rouser bred 100% Johnson takes care of the yard. Very very high civil protection bred i nto that line.  Good with your kids  but takes it very personal when threatened.

Im sure there some jagds out there that will get on someone. But mine are pinned up so they dont get out and kill everything in the neighborhood. I did have a gyp cur that was a great guard dog im sure she would have torn into a somebody threatening my family but i went threw a time were i was figuring out what direction in hunting i was going too and types of dogs. So i got rid of her. Im currently thinking about getting a bigger dog that my family can get a handle on and not just me.

Im kinda leaning towards an American bulldog, type of herding dog, or even a shepherd but im not a fan of shepherds. I want something that my family can get a good handle on.

Most herding dogs make good guard dogs. I have had many bull dogs they don't make good guard dogs as a whole. If there mean enough to confront a stranger they usually won't care who it is. I can't say bout american bull dogs I have only had one and he was but he wanted to kill every thing he seen that's a liability. I had two good sheps both where top notch.

I've got a sorry old yellow dog running loose on my place and nothing or nobody comes on it uninvited. He minds better than most kids and I swear he understands everything you say to him. I will admit one like that doesn't come along everyday, but the ones that do can't be beat.

I'm not a huge shepherd fan either, but those belgian malinois are smaller and just furry buzz saws when it comes to unwanted creepers.

Really, if someone tresspasses these days and get bit, it will be a pain in the a z z to deal with.  Regardless of their intent. The best scenario is the dog keeps them from entering your property cuz they dont wanna get bit, but these people arent always the brightest bulbs. But the stinking lawyers will be lined up to take a dog bite case and your homeowners insurance may or may not bail on you

I have a Cane Corso that I'm trying to home. Sweet dog, excellent guard dog. Gets along with all my dogs and kids.  Will eat a cat if have the chance.. she has been bred twice already so will need to be fixed.. I don't worry about my house getting into....ever

Get yourself a good stock bred dog, they are usually naturally protective of their property. Then you might also be able to use it on hogs too. But a good Cat, or BMC tend to be real naturally protective from what ive seen. Also I have heard the same about Florida curs but their are more experienced guys on here with those breeds that could probably chime in.

I had a friend with a Catahoula that he would take everywhere in the back of his truck and if my friend left the truck you best not touch that truck, best car alarm ever. The dog was the same way with his yard but if my friend was there then he was a big teddy bear to everyone.

I had a friend with a great Pyrenees and during the day that dog was cool and collected but didn't like sttangers much. At night, if you weren't a part of that family you could swear they had a werewolf protecting their yard. Might be too much dog but wasn't nothing gonna get past that fella if he wasn't called  by his owners.

If i wanted a dog strictly for protection and not have to worry about it hurting my children i would get a great pyranees or an anatolian shepherd. Whatever they grow up around they will protect. We had them for our goats and sheep growing up.  They would stay with new born goats through cold front while mothers would come up to barn until we came down to get them. One we had grew up around ppl and diidnt care for livestock. He would play with my brothers and I. But sure enough bit my neighbor when she came over unannounced.

Catch them on your property and take req measures and once they are 6' under the surface, the neighborhood will be mischief free until the next lil chits try it. Once they are 6' under, they wont be f'en around anymore with things that dont belong to them.
