I got a dog that got a poke in what I guess you would call his knee. It's not a bad cut, just in a weird spot. You could see clear to the bone when it happened. He doesnt mind me poking around on it or bending the leg. Theses no sign of infection and minimum swelling but it's been 3 days and he still refuses to use the leg at all. Have any of y'all had this happen? I'm just wondering if it's still too sore for him to use or if I need to go get it checked out by the vet.

It doesn't look bad at all...go to tractor supply and buy you a bottle of cutheal it is sold in a spray bottle...spray that 2 to 3 times a day and he will heal right up...

Even though its a small poke, his femur stopped all that energy . I imagine he's bone bruised up pretty bad, could be a slight fracture, coulda got a patella tendon,  I'd do as you've been advised, see if he dont get to using it more as time goes on. Other thing is just wash it out good every day with hose pipe before u hit it with the cut n heal. Good luck

Hey, another thing, does he let u bend that joint at all?  Try bending his leg at the knee, if it dont flinch or yelp, check his hip joint, crazier things have happened, and a big ol boar coulda hit him hard where he is poked but spprained his hip joint. Good luck
