A 4x6 would be ok for a 50+ lb dog IF and only if you allowed them time to exercise a bit everyday. I just cant see a 4x6 being adequate for a big dog if it isnt allowed to get out and run a bit. I spent alotta money on kennels years back and ended up going back to chains simply so they could run/move more, my kennels were 5x10s and i still didnt feel they were big enough. I did not have the time to let them out to run daily though, that is a big part of why i went back to chains.

I live work and hunt all on the same place so i got plenty enough time to let them run in the evenings..but dang near all my friends have said and done the same thing..went from chains to kennels back to chains makes me wonder if im wasting time and money

I cant soeak for anyone but me but im tellin you, my dogs were all around misreable in kennels, i could honestly tell they all disliked them just based off their overall demeanor. I slowly started switching back to chains, im plannin to tear the kennels down this week as i havent used em in over a year.

I keep my males on chains, and keep my females kenneled up. I personally try to let my dogs run loose at least 30mins a day at feed time.

I like chains better for the same reasons everyone's mentioned. I just hate it when dogs wrap them chains around my feet...

my  kennels is 14 feet deep I wish they as 10 they  hard to wash that deep and I don't think the extra 4 feet makes any difference in exercise ....put a jump up bench in the kennel they will jump up and down all day that helps ..... I like the kennels for having pups  cause mine will dig a hole to have em in ... I like the ones I hunt on chains though ...but  you gotta fight parasites and  fleas all summer ....

Having a dog up off the ground in kennels help that much with fleas...
