I have a ranger 900 3 seater and want to put a winch on it. I'd like one that could assist in pulling the truck or atv if it's stuck but it'd mostly be for pulling out big pigs that we got down in a bottom. What y'all run? Don't want to break the bank here

Go with a 4500-5000lb winch. Plenty to do anything you want with a snatchblock. Get on amazon and start reading. Pay attention to the ratings and reviews, you should be able to find a good one pretty quick.

Do any of y'all have winches that are detachable? I'm thinking of making one that can go into a receiver mount

I have a 8,000lb warn winch on the front of a 99 Dodge 3500 on a receiver hitch, I can take it off and put it on the back of the truck or on  a utv if it has a receiver hitch. It is very handy. I welded a hitch on a 28' gooseneck trailer and use it to pull stuff up on it also.

I've got a plan for how I want to do this and just priced out wiring. Gonna wire for my ranger and for the back of my hog truck too. That way I can pull it on and off easily
