Gotcha. I usley turn two dogs out. If I turned 7 loose I would have multiple bays or caught hogs as well. I can't do that with mine Cuz most of them will catch any hog they find and might be a mile or two away. But I get your concept

I've only got 5 cur dogs right now, but all 5 will find, bay and stay with their own hog even while one of the others is bayed if they cut a track on the way. Next year Ill have 7, imagine what can get accomplished when each man has ten of them.

These guys have 4th string dogs that the majority of hunters would pay thousands to own.

I wouldn't pay thousands to own much of nothing main reason is I don't have thousands to spend. Every one has good dogs they don't need to be from a certain line or fella. And most people have the best dogs any way just ask them. Average dog will do the trick if the hogs are there and you have enough dogs and people to tie em up. I just was confused on your methods but after your statements it all makes since on how you hunt and do so well in tournaments. Your tactics work well my friend

I didn't mean to sound insulting to you, I apologize for not being clearer. But no, average dogs will not do what these dogs do even in large numbers. The average "hog dog" out there does not finish his own track even when he has to pass thru a bayed hog to do it, the average hog dog will not roll out as soon as a man puts his hands on the hog to go find another, the average hog dog will not ignore 5-10 four wheelers zooming thru the woods in different directions and just stay on track the average hog dog can not put down the miles these dogs do.
I have a 7 year old dog who put down 47.8 miles (afoot) on Saturday from 6am till 4pm and on Sunday, he put in another 23 miles and I had to catch him off the last hog because I thought we were trying to get to weigh in.

If you have a stringer of dogs that will do those things, I've got nothing but respect for you, and I'll give you a round of applause because you are not hualing "average hog dogs"

And Tony, I never quit, I just decided to grow up and be quiet for a while.  Grin

Gotcha. The 24 hr hunt we did this weekend we bayed 150 hogs easy most where groups of 30 hogs was tryed to cherry pick the biggest but didn't work out my two curs that did most of the work put down over 65 miles in 24 hrs and there just average dogs kept groups bayed for 30 min to a hrs till we could get in there due to deep gulleys. We had separate bays with two dogs only two miles apart each had 20 plus hogs bayed. It ain't easy but a lot of dogs can do this same stuff. Most of the time when hog is caught my dogs will be on another one just as you stated most won't. It all comes down to the number of pigs there your tactics and how many dogs you got to work with and your hands running it. It's not a long held secret. It shocks me how every knows so much more then others lol. Not being ugly guy just my opinion hope you can value mine as I do yours

Yes sir, I understand, part of growing up and getting quieter was realizing that I'm not as good at politely explaining my opinions on the Internet as I always thought I was! Haha

Sounds like y'all did very well, and had some real nice dogs on the hunt!

Lol same here. I figured I'd better start posting again after people started getting their pantys in wad after we caught 65 head on facebook. Then you post it on here and everyone wants to go making excuses for our dogs... well it's only because they hunt a lot of dogs that they are catching that many. It's only because they are hunting loaded spots in good country, it's only because they arnt hunting in briars and on and on. It doesn't matter to us, water off a ducks back.
Until then we'll just keep adding to the pile

TShelly I assumed your talking bout me since I had asked a bunch of ? On how y'all do the numbers. I never said anything bout your dogs. And you know for a fact good numbers have to be there in order to catch a lot that's common sense. I was simple poking to find out your tactics and you reviled them to me.yes it was a heck of a feat to haul in what you did. Nice collection of buckles. Any time you want to come up and hunt one of my spots with me you are more then welcome to hunt with us.

Catching and tying 65 hogs is impressive no matter where you hunted at! I don't think I could catch that many if I took my dogs to the county pig show  Grin

No sir didn't mean it to sound like it was you. Just in general a lot of excuses being made from a lot of people. More so on facebook, I'm just trying to address the haters without getting upset about it. No worries man, the questions didn't bother me.
