A friend of mine raised reg redbones. He gave my daughter a pup last summer. He's 7-8 months old and she's got him baying a coon. I hunt curs on hogs but was wondering what he might bring to the table. I've hunted plotts in the past but wondering if anyone's hunting any redbones and what their traits are.

I have been told they can get rough don't know never owned one all my dogs are mixed hound x cur I recently picked up two pups 3/4 red tick 1/4 cur they are the highest percentage hound I have fooled with they are a few months old and bud they will run a house cat like nobody's business I bet they will be trashy that's one thing about the cross I have found the cur tones down the trashing in most cases.

Yes I am hunting a redbone. And yes he's a well rounded dog. He can do it from start to finish alone. He can get the job done that's for sure whether it takes 10 min to 12 hours. He's a hog dog for sure.

Thanks for the replies. Mine is getting close to a year old and not showing me much.  Sounds good Jason. I've been working a lot lately.

I have a breedable pair that have only seen a caged coon with the previous owner. Divorce, and the owner couldn't keep them up. Free for the taking. Haven't tried them on pigs
