I went to a a new place this weekend, it was full of hog sign. Friday night Bella bayed one in a palmetto head, turned the catch dog loose, and sounded like we had a pretty good one caught. I rode the fourwheeler to her and once i got there i saw the hog break and run about 5 feet in front of me. It was about a 250 pound boar hog. He hightailed it to the thick stuff and the dogs ran him for about an hour, and finally came back.
Tried it again on sunday morning and i dont know what was goin on, the dogs wouldnt hunt worth a dang. There was plenty of fresh sign around, but it just seemed like the dogs wouldnt take a track. Didnt get on anything so i had time to take a few pictures.

Bella had one bayed in a palmetto head on the other side of this flag pond

No i think i just need the get some better dogs.

It seems like every time Bella is on the line for being a cull she pulls through and does good.
Having one break and outrunning her doesnt bother me, but when they barely leave your sight for the whole hunt is when it pisses me off

IT DONT MAKE ME MAD AT THE DOGS, IT DOES SUCK THO, BUT HELL AS LONG AS I GET TO HEAR A BAY, IM PRETTY HAPPY, BUT YEAH MY DOGS BEST STAY AWAY FROM ME AND GO HUNT, AND THEY ALSO BETTER STICK WITH THAT RUNNIN HOG FOR A WHILE AND TRY TO SHUT IT DOWN AND NOT GIVE UP EASY, BUT THEM HOGS ARE SMART, THEY KNO TO RUN INTO THAT THICK SH!T

SFboarbuster,

I bayed a good hog just behind the tall pine in the 2nd pic last year.  It has a fat lighter stump just to the right of it.  Nice spot.

Cutter, are you sure? This place is in palm city, and im sure it would be too small of a place for those hounds.
