I'm an hour north of Houston and you'd think the world is coming to an end. Gas stations running out of gas and grocery store shelves are empty.

I think 40 or 50 inches of rain could be possible in some areas...just my gut feeling...back in 1979 a little tropical storm came in and veered hard left and stopped on top of Freeport and dropped 29 inches in less than 24 hours...we had motor boats going up and down the main streets and back streets...I see the possibility of the same setup but with a way more powerful storm...

Back in 1979 it came down hard in a 24 hour period and was localized and 6 weeks later we had a repeat but only 24 inches...

Looks like my gut feeling of 40-50 inches of rain from Harvey came true for some areas...lots of flooding in a wide spread area...many homes have been flooded...

I have lived in this area for almost 45 years and last year the brazos river flooded like I have never seen before in those years..they say when it peaks out in the next few days it will be 2-5 feet higher than last year...

Batten down the hatches down on the coast y'all! All we have up here are forest fires!

Forest fires and that stupid eclipse. We had to ferry back to aurora to repair a bunch of structural cracking and departed bout 30min after the eclipse and when we lifted off, 5 north was already a parking lot south of wilsonville. Headi g to work at 6:00, 5 south was becoming a parking lot just past the sec exit for aurora and the next exit for aurora/woodburn. It was a goat screw, im just glad i ferried back to missoula instead of being in that traffic, but from the guys that were driving, it got extremely bad in the tri-cities, ALL due a stupid celestial event that has been happening since the universe was created.
I just wish that i wasnt heading back to missoula today, or this werk and i owned or leased a helicopter, i could at least use it to evac people or bring supplies and rescue personnel. But i do have have a friend down there that is using his helicopter for that.

If any of yaw in the area need aerial assistance, contact joey walz @ www.nationalhelicoptersolutions.com or www.helihoghunt.com for coordination for assistance. His contact info is on both sites, plus his facebook pages for both compaies.

all time record for rain in the USA was in Hawaii back in 1950...52" of rain...Hurricane Harvey almost beat that record at Cedar Bayou, Tx, 51.88"...

The Brazos river will crest (peak) Tuesday at 2am...the flood waters are rising and folks are still getting flooded...some flooded during the high rains and are flooding again a second time because of the two main rivers in the area...last year was the worst ever I have seen in the area...it was a once in a 500 year flood but it is way worse this year...have folks staying with us as well as 7 dogs...I am just glad to be able to help...

many, many folks have stepped up to help in many ways...my nephew went to drop off some sheep at the county fairgrounds where volunteers are taking in animals of all types and assigning numbers to them...on his way out they filled the truck bed up with feed on account they don't have room for all the donated food coming in...they told him if he has storage for all that livestock feed to take it and use it...best to have more than not enough to go around...

It is more than encouraging to see Americans help folks, regardless of race, religion etc etc,,but thats  WHO WE ARE! I am sick of  the msm portraying Americans as divided and hateful. We working Americans get up every, day, go to work, work with people from everywhere, and EVERYBODY GETS ALONG. . Only on the nightly news do u  see. Manufactured strife.  We are AMERICAN AND WE HELP ONE ANOTHER.  Last lil thought, aint seen no news stories of BLM or Antifa sending volunteers or helping in any way, kind of lends itself to  make a fella think maybe THEY are the hate groups.   God Bless Texas
