Had a dumbass yellow pup grab one of my gyps' leg yesterday. Got a few puntures in the leg and ripped alittle skin. The yellow dog had Sally's(gyp) leg and was bending around the kennel panel. She will put weight on it but it is swollen today. I gave her anti-bio and cleaned it yesterday. When I saw that it was swollen today I gave her some pain meds and dex. She will hold it up when she is i n the kennel but doesnt show much pain while running out in the yard. Would the bruiseing cause the swell and the dis comfort? The yellow pup(year old) has a mean bite so some tussie damage could be likly. Sally was eating on a fish head that the yellow pup must of wanted I geuss.

I have seen legs blow up real big from a bite from a dog or hog, you have treated it correctly, most of the time they go back to normal pretty quick.

Probably the next thing i would be doing is hydro the whole leg. probably only need five minutes once a day, but if you could do it twice a day that would be good too. She should be feeling pretty good in no time unless it is something serious. If you can get ahold of some Remadyl to give for a couple of days that would be good too. That would help with pain and swelling. Its a good anti inflammatory for dogs.

She held the leg up for a few days but is back to normal as of a few days ago.
