Looking for a place that can build me a cable logging choker, mostly being able crimp ferrels to make an eye on 1 end. I can get the bail and end ferrels and finish it up, just need the eye made on 5-6 cables and i can cut to fit the rest. Im located in central tx, near waco, but traveling to the houston and lufkin/nac area in the next few weeks. Any of yaw in those areas know of a company that can build the chockers?

Should be a pile of places in the Houston area that builds rigging, not sure if you can find it but trying looking up building a Po boy choker on YouTube, I can’t really explain it in words but you can braid the cable back into itself pretty easy making a choker yourself, it’s done a good bit in pile driving and industrial construction

I used to braid nylon and cotton rope, but steel cable is a much different animal. Id rather pay someone to crimp the ferrel. The former loggers i work with told me horror stories of trying to braid 1/2”, through 1” cable when the chokers would break on a turn or during evening shut down inspection, find a damaged choker. They finally just sent the chokers back to our logging dept and either scrapped them or sent them out to get repaired.
