Sometimes I get mine from two different Tractor supply locations,,, and I can tell the difference between the two.  One is dry and the other is oily like it should be.. Don't know if its different production plants that ship to different locations that are different or what....

The original was a darker oily pellet. Recently its come a lighter color, less oily. On this dog food I'm seeing a looser stool with a very foul smell and a lot more of it. Makes me believe its less digestible plus my dogs aren't doing as well. Hoping they go back to original. Just wondering if others were seeing the same. All this started when I started seeing it sold at local Tractor Supply in 40 pound bag instead of the feed store 50.

I'm still getting the dark, oily feed... but I buy mine in the 55 lb bags from the feed store.

Sometimes I buy the 55 pound bags at the feed store and sometimes the 40 pound bags at TSC...
Always the black bags of sportsmix...

In the last 6 months or longer I have noticed I have to feed quite a bit more to keep my dogs at a good weight...they look good but it is a thorn in my side with this issue...I wormed my dogs several times and even swapped to a  new wormer and no improvement...maybe I will swap back to diamond high energy if I can cut  the feeding ration back...

I was meaning to post on this issue but this is a good time to do it...

Not sportmix but had the exact thing happen with the value pack by specialty feeds, I was getting it by the ton once a month and got 3 bad tons in a row and my dogs fell off and was starting to look bad and I was selling it and had to answer to others I went another route on the feed and was contacted by specialty feeds after I sent several complaints via email and was told they had a mistake in a batch on their recipe and assured me that QC inspected every batch from there on out, haven't heard of anyone having any further complaints....

Seems for the past year I have had to increase  sportsmix feed to my dogs...in the summer I fed about half a bowl of feed and had to increase to 3/4 bowl...

In the winter I fed 3/4 bowl and now it is about a full bowl just to maintain good weight on my dogs...

Just wondering if any of you have noticed this?

Maybe a little bit this winter ive had to feed a bit more to keep weight right, and half my dogs seem to be itchy/dry skin, cant say its for sure the feed though. My skin has been wind chapped as well. Its worked for me for yrs and seems to be best feed for the price I can find thats practical.

We started having to feed more of it also and the dogs still weren't maintaining like we thought they should. We switched to the blue sack of value pack and they are looking as good as they ever have and maintaining real good muscle and energy.

I haven't had any issues with mine... and I hunt the hair off them strait thru deer season, year round. I just had to cut them back because they were getting fat haha.

My dogs were emaciated on sportmix. we had a bad summer last year and both my dogs got super skinny. I switched to diamond high energy and with in  3 weeks they were back to normal. i overfed them a little over the winter, and they got a bit overweight. as soon as school lets out for spring break, I'm running them like crazy.

thats odd sportmix is defiantly higher quality than that diamond high energy, cant explain that one. Sure it wasnt worming them? My bulldogs eat their poop on diamond
