Lacy Man...I hate to hear the bad news about the cow patties...right now the patties are slightly smaller than normal but can really tell it with the pups...but then right now I am feeding 50/50 until I run out of the sportsmix black bag...

Were you feeding the Valu-Pak black bag when you were getting the cow patties?

I was feeding the grey bag

JDT them dogs that can’t get fat maybe getting really cold and there body is burning there fat to keep them warm fresh water every day is better then feeding one the best dog food in the world and it’s cheaper and u ain’t got to go to the store and get it and people never clean there water they just fill it up not saying u don’t clean it just telling u what might be happen

I like the Valu-pak in the black bag...dogs and pups are doing good on it...less to pick up and easier to wash down...also paying 3 dollars less than sportsmix black bag...

Well......after 2 months of the grey bag I’m going back Sportmix.  Was a 25 minute drive to get the VP and the price not any better so it was really going to have to win me over. Dogs don’t look bad, but don’t look any better or hunt differently from an endurance standpoint. Not putting down the product at all, just didn’t see any difference.

I am saving about $3.50 a bag just by switching over from sportsmix...the dogs eat less, poop less and have quite a bit more stamina...I couldn’t  pull two dogs off track on account their tt15 collars have been sent in fo repairs this past Saturday...these two dogs started at 7:30 AM and I finally pulled them off at 4 PM...

Anyone Kno what the preservative in this food is?

I asked the lady at the feed store about it left my number with her she said she would contact the rep and call me,well I never got that call.

I’m feeding the blue bag 26 18 my dogs are doing great on it. I’m running my cat hounds around a 100 miles a week and there holding there weight in this heat .  I fed sports mix for about 15 years and I will never buy another bag . The last year or so it has been really inconsistent had dogs almost starving there selves to death because they wouldn’t eat it. Somthing is bad wrong with it .

With the Valu-Pak 28-20 the dogs can hunt quite a bit longer than when I had them on sportsmix 24-20...

Yep.  It's good food.  Feed it to dogs feed it to pups.  Cheaper and according to the label better food than sportmix diamond and Victor.  I've been on it for a few months now and all the dogs look good.

I have fed diamond high energy for the last 5-6 years with no problems at all except the price, which is over $30 with tax.  I have never fed sportmix (about same price as diamond), but I know there are people who love it and ones who hate it. Personally, from what I have heard, I lean toward the negative side. Can't afford victor if you have many dogs. Valu-pak is what it is--valu-pak (Victor=winner, diamond=valuable, showtime=ready to steal the show). Mine did alright on valu-pak for a few months then fell off hard! (I have seen valu-pak any where from $20-25.) Won't hold a working dog, people will learn this soon enough. I have recently switched to showtime, and it has been working great for me. Cost $25 plus tax for 24-20 in northeast Texas. Research shows that the field trial people and top bay pen guys feed showtime. I will never push a dog like the field trial people do and they feed showtime, so I expect to feed showtime from now on.

I was feeding the red bag Value pac 24/20 & it was so so. I was paying $19.00 a bag buying it by the ton. In the summer it was ok but the dogs did have a loose stool. In the winter when I was hunting 3-4 days a week it simply would not keep the weight on them. I was feeding 1 1/2 times in the winter then what I feed in the summer & my dogs would fall off. Before that I fed the Showtime 24/20 & jmo was a much better feed. I fed that quite a while but the price jumped up to $23.50 a bag buying it by the ton. Dogs held up good on it but i made the switch to Value pac to save money. In the long run I bet I did not save much.   Now I am feeding Pride 24/20 paying $22.00 a bag buying by the ton. I was amazed how fat my dogs got feeding the same amount as I was feeding the Value Pac & had to cut back. Been feeding this for a couple of months & so far like it a lot.

X2 on the pride.  It is good feed for sure. I was telling a buddy about it and while he was over one evening I showed him how much I was feeding the dogs and the next week he got some and found the same results of feeding less pride feed vs the value pack.
