on the bottle it says for muscular use only someone told me it would work by giving it in the mouth as well ...is this trus or not.

I don't think it will work orally, and besides there is no reason not to inject it IM.

thanks thats what i thought the only reason i was asking is i have one dog that hates needles as soon as you stick in she is squrming all over the place dont mater if you tie her up or what she moves not easy to do by yourself......

you can give penicillin sub-q (under the skin) or intramuscular (in the muscle)

Mav, agteacher is correct, and I do give my long acting pen, SC and they take it better, but I also have one dog that hates the shots.

thanks i will try under the skin should be alot easier.
this dog is going on 3.5 weeks with a sack under her botton jaw from a poke
it dont seem to be getting any better.
i actually started giving her some antiobotics that i had left over from a root canal on myself.

be careful with the anti's make sure you give them right and give a full cycle or you might end up with an infection immune to the anti's, could also posibly hurt the dogs immune system.

Penicillin is probably the weakest antibiotic they have. I would recommend Clavamox, this will put a hurtin on an infection and it is only given orally.  I have used this stuff and it works.

i've taken long acting penicillian orally for an ear infection (cut with water), when i couldn't get to a doc for a prescription.
it will knock the the hell out of an infection that way instantly.  i HIGHLY DO NOT recommend it. it's tough to swallow and tough to keep down. you WILL find out if you are allergic to it that way. plus anybody with sense will chew your ass out if they find out you've done that. but hell, i don't like an ear infection much either, especially 80 miles from town, during a two week cow works. so yeah, i'm sure it works orally on dogs to, if they hold it down.

Just get some k-flex 500mg pills put it in a slice of cheese she will take it its a better antibiotic anyways they're normally 50 cents a pill at the vet all u need is a 10 day supply 2 pills a day
