I live on 5 acres and my neighbors are close to me. I put my pens on the side of my house closes to my bedroom room so I can hear them bark at night to shut them up. I was using bark collars from sport dog off and on but since set a sprinkler up facing the pens with my dogs houses facing the opposite direction. This seems to work well, just sucks I have to turn the hose on in the middle of the night and go back to bed. Are there any systems with a sensor to turn the hose on and off with bark detection? Seems kinda far fetched but would be nice. Any thoughts or ideas would be great.

I’ve seen several that were automatically set up, seen where one guy rigged up one of those devices that lets out a high frequency sound that only the dogs can hear, he used the bark sensor on it and somehow had it wired into a control box that turned the sprinkler system on whenever they would bark instead of the high pitched sound, I’ll see if I can find where he posted his plans...

There is a app that you can download on your phone & you program the sprinkler so when you push the app, it sets off the sprinkler. A friend has it on his & his wifes ph. so they can keep the dogs relatively quiet. The ideal situation would be where it is triggered whenever they bark & I know there have to be ways to do it.

I've seen them in action but not the bark blaster brand I posted the link to, my neighbor has a system rigged up in his beagle kennels and has two 20 acre training pens adjacent to his kennel and his dogs don't say a peep when he's running in the pens, I'll try to swing by one evening and see what type his is...

Thanks for the info, $350 is steep for a sprinkler, lol. Any other suggestions would be great. I thought about the BB gun but my luck I would put a eye out.

I’ve seen online on another forum where some guys made their own. Maybe some one on here is good at tinkering, seems like you might would be able to disconnect the wire that goes to the speaker/sound source that emits the high frequency sound on that little bird house looking bark boxes and wire it into a sprinkler timer box, both can be purchased at most Home Depot’s and tsc...

Just got two of these in yesterday, I ordered them off eBay for 24$ & free shipping, you can tell their cheap made I’ll see how long they last but I can tell you it’s been nice walking outside at night and not listening to two hounds barking, my dogs are pretty quiet I don’t put up with or allow any non sense nuisance barking and these two males bark at everything that moves at night, my dog yard is several hundred yards from my house and all I have to do is shine a light at them and they’ll hush up just long enough for me to get back inside, so I fought fire with fire and also tone breaking my dogs all in one.... I have 5 bark collars, just hate shocking them. I rotate them with the sprinkler system, they have been quite since switching to the hose, they really hate it.

Used the BB gun with a lot of success. Moved to a house where my dogs are 170yds from my room, and had to use other methods. Most of mine decided they didn’t want to get wopped by a lead anymore, but occasionally one would be hard headed. After the smart dogs learned fast, the rest followed suit. A light wop and holler HUSH. For the last 6 years I have been able to holler hush from 170yds and all you hear are crickets. I guess the old teaches the new. I know it doesn’t help, my method, but expect a learning curve and some aggravation. I would correct, and if I got all the way to the house and heard one bark, I’d walk back and correct again... as many times as it took. Usually have about 12 head. Consistency and perseverance is the key.

Goose, did you ever get a chance to get more info on this set up? I have not, my neighbor who has the system set up on his beagle kennels has been having a spell with cancer and has been back and forth to the doctor last few months and I haven’t wanted to bother him with something like that, however I did find a few links showing how to make your own, I took the bark indicator and microchip out of one of the collars I bought and just picked up a sprinkler timer Friday so I’m going to do a little tinkering of my own and see what I can come up with... $20 red ryder bb gun from wallmart works 4 me, never had to shoot one more than a time or 2 b4 just shaking it and the occasional bb flung their direction fixed... fyi had a friend ruin a good dog from night hunting by using a light on them, it would quit baying and run to our feet when headlights hit the bay.

Goose, did you ever get a chance to get more info on this set up? Goose, i can understand that. Let us know how it works once you get it figured out. I have not had any luck finding any DIY instructions.
