RIP Roux-ga-Roux (Roux)

Had a strong bond with this one as she has gotten me out of a bind a couple times. Most recent I shot her off to a boar running straight at me with curs on his tail. At about 5 steps, seen her and ran. She grabbed his hock as he turned and straddled him around a tree. She took a small beating, as I was on it in 10 seconds. Only time she didn’t catch ear, was to save me, and the couple times she didn’t have room on the head. Could always count on her to have my back... lock, shoulder and anchor.

Raised her from a pup, and had 4 good years of training and catching. Easiest to handle, no beef, but hell on a pig... this one hurt like hell.

I guess the worst of all is that I have no idea what happened, and still don’t know how to tell the kids. If anyone is extremely well versed in parasites, or intestinal/internal issues of a dog, I would really appreciate some answers. Please PM me.

That sucks bad man sorry to hear that. Any intestinal or peri sites would show tell well before that point sounds like cardiovascular or pulmonary issue. She was a very beautiful dog my friend

Thanks

Noticed something off around noon, 4hrs later she passed. Leaning toward hematemesis... but can’t truly pin point it. Definitely has to be something out of the norm.

That's a tough break for sure. They always say don't get attached to a catch dog. How do you not get attached, especially when they are so much fun and good at what they do? A crack head of a dog is one thing, the good ones are another. Sorry for your loss.

I appreciate it, but as luck would have it, Semmes just had another litter out of her sister  bred to her half brother. I’m getting pick of litter female out of it. What I am looking for tho, is a well started catch dog ready to hit the ground that only needs fine tuning. Since we aren’t too far apart, keep an ear to the ground if you can.
