so i took my pups out again. last time i went i had a good bay going and i didn't have my catchdog, so i took the catchdog in training with me.  i'm really pleased with my pups at this point. i dropped them a little later at night this time and a little further in the woods to see if they would hit the ground running or if they would play around a bit first. will those two gyps hit the ground running. i mean i took them off the chains and they were out of site. about 5min later i had split bays going. my dogoX was to my left and my bmc was to the right. my dogoX will get gritty with a smaller hog so when i heard a squeal i thought it was over so i sent in the pit just to get her some experience. well just as i let pearl go the squealing stopped, i heard a yelp, and the baying started again. i figured kopa tried to catch a smaller hog and a bigger one popped her so she went back to baying. while this is going on i can hear sunny hammering away to my right. pearl came back to me so i clipped her and ran to get a better idea of where sunny was. as i was doing this kopa came back to me and was trying to locate up where the hogs were that she was baying cause they broke on her. she cut out again and sunny was quiet now. finally they both came back to me.

we started walking again and they got on another one. kopa opened up first, sunny must have circled behind because she blew by me and went to the bay. they were about 30yds in the woods so i'm crawling to the bay and i finally say screw it and let the pit go.AAANNDDD no dice. i could hear the hog breathing and growling..not snorting...growing and breathing thats it...well the pit isn't a catchdog. lucky it just my brothers pet more than anything, i was just hoping that she would catch also. the hog was at least 200 because kopa will try to catch anything under that. plus that joker was moving(i could see the hog but i had the feeling that it was one of those that just stands there and waits for you to make a move cuz they are just that bad). well they bayed for a good 15-20min. i tried to get kopa to catch, if she would have caught then i think it might have got the pit excited and we would have been in business.

so this is two for two with my pups. they are really turning out good. both dogs are hard bayers and have quality noses. smart enough to back off and gritty enough to spin them. real proud of my dogs...now i got to try to convince my wife to let me get a catchdog now..lol

good deal with those pups. I didn't know you were looking for a catchdog. I just gave away a bull terrier/cur 2 weeks ago.

i didn't know i was in the market for a catchdog either...lol..was hoping that blue pit would pan out..i'll give her one more chance at it though..yeah i'm proud of my pups. i'm sure there are pups that are doing way better than mine, but i like these two that i have. especially considering i am not able to hunt them hard like alot of people do. these two are doing it off of instincts..it's great to see..probally going to build some kennels to try to convice the wife to let me get a catchdog..lol..probally won't work but at least it will keep me busy...lol
