Picked up my first ranch down here in south Texas, good sized low fence place next door to our high fence place. Scouted it this morning, headed out this evening with an idea of where I wanted to go. Got to far corner of property not close to where I was headed and sketch got wormy in the bed of the buggy. Hissed her own and took about 5 minutes she came bayed at 110 yards. My gyp puppy and my buddy Seth’s baby gyp bailed and went to her. Baby got there and tried the hog, realized she wasn’t gonna get any help and they set up hammering. Heading to them and this hog is fighting bad, expecting a boar hog, get in there and it is a pretty big hog, I ear hole em and realize it’s a big sow. Probably 230-250. She had some little razors and cut baby up pretty good, sketch found and bayed 2 more hogs with pup right on her hip. Baby was just being a little too rough, for these hogs and they wouldn’t stand for it once she got there. Haven’t met neighbors yet so had to call off both from the fence lines cause we just hunted the perimeter. 7 month old gyp puppy was in there baying like hell, first time she has gotten the chance and I am really really proud of her. Different kind of feeling knowing she is 110% in every way my doing and she’s showing early sign of being just what I had in mind! https://vimeo.com/337662468 Seth has video of bay and shoot, we will see if he sends it to me cause he busted his ass in a badger hole after the shot lmao

pic might not look like much but this sow was all there

Thanks guys. This ranch is pretty neat. Half of it is manicured real nice for bird hunting, just some scattered oak motts and black brush thickets. which is where we killed this sow. The other side is an absolute jungle. You can guess where the majority of the hogs stay. Oh also neat fact. 13 rattlesnakes killed on this place since January 1 FML
