Dexter, what year is the bronco? I have an 86 ranger 4x4 with the 2.9. first year of the fuel injected. It was my first truck, it's been sitting for about 14 years.

Been hunting out of my F250 4x4 powerstroke for about 4 years now.  Been stuck maybe only a couple times.  Just use common sense and it will be fine. Wink  Plus the crew cab is nice for a load of folks and sleeps good!

I hunt out of a 4 door 4X4 Dodge 3500 single wheel 1 ton and haven't had any problems with it.  But as already stated, you have to use common sense when deciding where to drive and where not to drive.  Knock on wood, haven't been stuck in it yet  Grin

That is 100% true Dexter.  I'm still kickin myself for sellin that jeep I had last year.  I try to be very sure about whether or not I can get through where I'm going before I head through the mud.  If I do get stuck it won't be an easy task gettin it out.  I don't want to even think about that  Grin

Drove a full size ram pickup when I worked for the Conservation Dept. It was a gasoline model, and it would get stuck in wet grass. Places that every other truck could handle no problems, that truck had to be put in 4wd just to have any hope of making it.

I'm not a huge fan of Jeeps or Bronco IIs. But Bronco I's? None better as real off-road utility goes. All that said, my next hunting rig will be a Toyota pickup, or a van with a lift and 4wd conversion.

Van with a conversion, that would be awesome. Go to the sky with it and put some 40s on it. May be scary on sharp turns though. Imagine it would be top heavy.
