Me and ol Chris Hearne slipped into the flooded country to see if any hogs survived. This property received 24” of rain on Thursday... it was still pretty dang wet. We ended up with two... and Chris ended up at the doctor Monday morning. Ol hog latched on to his pinky finger hahaha! The only thing going thru his mind was getting rabies. I said... Chris, hogs don’t carry rabies. But... better hope your nuts don’t swell up with brucellosis hahaha!!!

He didn’t think it was very funny...

Ol Chris will live... they put him on antibiotics and he had a wild story to tell all the nurses about being attacked by a wild Russian boar haha.

I’ve been real happy with Mingus... he catches hard for sure.

Good hunt.  After Katrina hit here, I am convinced of two things. Hogs and cockroaches can survive about anything. I had a buddy who was a charter boat Captain down in Hopedale, La. where the storm hit. Two weeks later after a 20' surge of water came thru, he was telling me to bring my dogs that hogs were everywhere down there and he was right. We really slammed them.

I don’t know ... Chris may have culled out on me. He’s been wrecked and almost wrecked too many times. He may set back and bay and let me do all the catching from now on hahaha!

Wood is just waiting on cooler weather. He had to rounds of brucellosis last year and started running real hot on me in this heat. Not sure if the brucellosis caused it or just getting older... but I gave him the summer off this year.

No he don’t... he’ll probably bite you next time he sees you. He likes it down here in the swamps, palmettos and rose hedge.

Rose hedge! That’s one thing I don’t know anyone or anything that likes that.  About like mosquitoes.

I used to have a rose hedge club house with several rose hedge tunnels to and from...my bothers and I built it with hand made machetes my dad made for us to use on farm & ranch...
