i have somw of the biothane collars.  when i first got 'em I wanted to put one on a little plott gyp I got, but the thing was too big.  So out comes the pocket knife and nothing.  Hell I had to sharpen my knife to cut it.  I really like runnin' 'em on my bay dogs.  most of mine bay real tight and it just gives a little more protection.  I use the regular cut collars on my catch dogs.  just my .02

They are very durable, but are not for every dog.  I tried putting one on my 50 lb pit and it looked like he had some kind of spinal injury.  He couldn't move his head very well at all.  That is not a knock on the collar, but rather on me, I should have realized it would be to big.  for a larger dog it would work very well in my opinion.
