Well stated warrent!!! What you describe is what I’ve always known a FL cur to be. I wish I had the ability to start some on cows because there normally seems to be a mix that some take better to a cow and some take better to a hog and the greats do what they are expected and asked. Hell some work cows by day and catch hogs by night. Seems you have some of the good ones for sure. Do you breed often or have pics of what your using now ?? Thanks in advance
Don't know how to post pics. Every thing I've ever posted was posted by someone else You can scroll back through my pages if you like. Got pics of some dogs back through the years. Still feeding the black and white Cur dog. She's been retired, going on 13 years old now. The black and tan is going on 5 yrs old and is a solid hand. Use him mainly on cows, but he keeps pork in my freezer as well All dogs are Florida bred

Thanks bud, but I'm not a social media, pic kind of guy. I'm old school and still tote a flip phone. Don't text either. We are from all around and below The Lake. Still have some family in Highlands County as well as down in West Broward and Monroe County. Cracker's and Conch's we are. I moved up here to SE TN almost 16 years ago and am still here. Like I said, there are some pics of some dogs back through my pages for anyone interested to see. Florida bred Cur Cowdogs is what we work with. Also have had the pleasure of owning a few sure 'nuff White Bulldogs over the years. Their blood has always been used to "build" our Cur Dogs. I don't hog hunt as much as I used too. I travel a lot and only have one dog "working" these days. We keep a small set of cows here. You from SW FL. Also have Kin in Northport and on Pine Island.

I can understand. I get on a few forums and that’s the extent of my social media. I’ll look back and see what I can find and I appreciate it. I reckon you would call it SW. bred born and raised in manatee county. My dad and uncle were born down around devils garden. That’s were my granddad made a living riding a horse until he changed up to a semi because grandma wasn’t going to live in the sticks any longer!!! Most of us are from manatee and wachula with some from around the lake. There last name is choat < could have spelled that wrong. I’m 3rd generation to hunt the bombing range and my dad lives in highlands these days. Funny you say that about them ole white dogs most wouldn’t believe you and why I say you get the “sport” that pops out every now and again and only one a litter. Well I would say your one of the few left and few left with what I picture when I think a FL cur. Wouldn’t mind picking your knowledge one day.

Here are the two pups I’m working with. The female on the bottom is going with dogs. The male up top still has a lot of puppy in him and is not showing interest. Hopefully that will change, he has the size I was wanting to breed, I just need him to have the drive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That yellow pup on top of the box looks like a Florida cur dog that was pictured on here many times named Monkey...supposed to have been a really good one...I have seen others that looked like Monkey as well that are supposed to be good ones located somewhere in central Florida... I hope he turns out for you...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

There are some good Florida Curs still. Just have to know someone who has them. I have still have 3 good ones. The best I bred up in 15yrs is my Blaze dog out of Zipper and Fancy. Medium range, find and catch his own hogs, never has been cut down! Need to breed him sometime soon before he is to old! I only wanted find, and catch Florida Curs! Not a barker with no gas or grit! Good luck with your pups!
