Let’s see your dog box /hunting trailer set ups?  I am looking to modify a trailer to be used as a strictly hunting trailer.. I am looking to see some ideas..  I will be hauling a Polaris ranger.  I am thinking a 14’-16’ trailer that can be towed easily with a 1/2 ton pick up.   Thanks in advance.

Here’s mine RBz
We run two type of trailers
Hogs in back - dogs in front - I have thought bout adding a box or two on top for bulldogs but just ain’t done it - I use a four wheeler but it will hold my buggy as well

Not the best pictures to go off of but you can get the drift- lotta boys round here run this type set up
- and these only pics I see with most of the trailer in it

We also use a 16 foot trailer with a dog box on front
Double stack box - pull four wheeler that has a hog trailer on it - we use this method probably a lot more - good way of getting hogs out woods

We will haul hogs out woods with the small trailer and then just pull four wheeler and all on the 16 foot trailer- really helps for keeping hogs alive as well - getting them untied and alil wind on them - don’t think that small hog trailer is a hindrance in thick woods - that Honda will pull it through ruff stuff

- Or ....We will take hogs out on front of my four wheeler and put in any of the back boxes on my  trailer or stuff the hog in small trailer on 16foot trailer- we will then pull four wheeler with small hog trailer off and take to holding pen or back big trailer in and dump hogs
-also lol FYI- you load the small hog trailer with big hogs, back it on 16foot trailer or your tail heavy and will get the ol trailer Sway! lol

- either way here works real nice
Ther are 1000 ways to tweak it and I know you know that but here’s our way and or example

Very nice set.   That’s what I am wanting something to load dogs or hogs from the side without having to unload buggy.   I had a big box a few years ago that worked great but you had the load the dogs then the buggy.

I’ve had two that worked well and no
pictures lol. Both had a 2 hole live box on the rear. One was on the passenger side and had two gates that opened out so that you could drive right up to it and put a hog in it and untie it. Didn’t matter which way you put it in you could shut one gate and once the hog was untied you could shut the other. It was just wide enough, about 18”, that the hog stayed belly up until the guillotine gate that separated the two compartments. There was a gate on the rear driver side so that you could back up to a shoot or gate and unload. The dog box was directly over the axle with the solid back of them against the live box. There were 6 dog boxes, 3 on bottom and 3 on top. Each box was 24” tall and would hold 2 dogs. The buggy or wheeler loaded side ways on the front with just enough room between it and the dogs for gates to open and get them in or out.

I liked that live box best but the other trailer was a better set up to me. The machine loaded between the dogs and live box so that it was more towards the middle of the trailer. It had one big dog compartment on one side that the dogs could load in by themselves from the ground. It would hold 4-5 dogs. There were 2 single holes on the opposite side of the trailer. There was a box on the tongue that I kept leads, vests, tie ropes, etc. in.

Hope I painted a good enough picture for you that you were able to visualize it some what.

Yes sir that sounds like some
Nice set ups. t-dog. I want something to access the boxes from the outside of trailer and have a spot to carry some hogs in.  I got a pretty good idea I was just wanting to see what others had and how it works for them.

Hopeful these last two litters make it. I haven’t been real successful the past few years but finally had a couple Black and Tans and a spotted dog I’m excited about. There are really rough like the original dogs I started with. Fingers crossed.

Not sure why my post went under this discussion. Meant for the new litter post.
