Made a little hunt with my buddy Kohl this morning. We put 4 dogs on the ground, Ken and Sam ( 3 yr old litter mates) and Tex and Uno ( 15 month old litter mates). They really had to hunt and dig this boar out. The second spot we cast them in they were really combing and area out to about 800 yards. Ken spent some time in one area about 200 yards from us but finally pushed on through it and then came back to it and put up bayed. We let the others all get there and then we went. Hog tried to break but had some heat on him and turned in the ankle deep water of the creek bed and stood. We sent Kohl’s catch dog and Loki thinking he was a little bigger than he was. Loki got there first and made a nice catch and Kohl’s dog helped seal the deal. All the dogs rolled out but nothing else was around so we loaded up and went to the Texas Burger joint and ate. It wasn’t easy but it was sure good for the dogs. As you can tell Loki couldn’t hardly stand all the excitement.

It was a fun hunt just seeing the dogs have to earn it. It was especially good for the two younger dogs. Uno is soft and fat from being put up for a couple months. He got jabbed in the eye by a stick and I was worried he might have been blinded but he’s finally ok again. This is his second hunt back and it’s been a slow starting return. Once he started hunting today he was looking more like his old self. I was sure glad to see it.

Easy hogs don't make good dogs

Got to agree on that one,,,  I have found a feller will have better dogs when they are started on hogs that are not easy to bay...  Good hog and good hunt..
