My dad, son Wade and I left last wednesday and headed about 8 hours south to Zapata on the tex/mex border for some bass fishing, I almost got tired of catching bass. The water down there is beautiful and the fish are big, we caught 2,3,4 and 5 pounders all day long, my 5 year old son got bored realing them in for us. We fished til sunday and I bet we caught more than a hundred fish, I considered it a trip of a lifetime.

Falcon Lake is the shiznit!! I hunted down in Zapata for about 15 yrs and that Lake is on the up and up. We went fishin down there last year caught a good number of bass, the water was still a lil cold to catch a bunch. But I did manage to catch 6.5lber and the guide caught a 8.0 lber. If that lake keeps water in it, I believe it will become the best lake in Texas. See the lake went dry back in the 90's with only the river channel flowing in it. No one thought it would refill, but it did. And when it did TPWD restocked it with that florida strain of bass. And when it was low trees and a bunch of mesquite brush grew up in it, creating a mecka for giant bass. I get excited just thinkin about it Sounds like you fellas had blast!! Good Times!
