My little Lucy dog (just turned 2 6/1/22) has been turning on here lately finding and baying this Barr for us and getting all of our races started lately really starting to step up since I finally retired crank(10)

Been hunting all morning not having any luck dogs had done put 10-15 miles on each of their feet and she slipped out 400 yards by herself and bayed him where she found him till we got there real happy with how she’s doing this year

That’s a toad for sure. Your dogs look good. I like leg under my dogs. Glad the little gyp

Lucy is definitely the smallest cur dog in the yard hopefully crossing her into these other dogs (if she keeps it up) from that blood will throw some more leg in the pups

Man, nice looking gyp and a nice looking hog also. Glad to hear you’re getting a good one going after putting up Crank. Hopefully you can get another breeding or two off of him.

Yessir, I had tried to breed him to his half sister couple months ago and found out about the same time he has a pinched disc in the middle of his back, I’m hoping to get a couple litters off him but most likely they’ll have to be artificial insemination so here’s hoping

There’s still 5 or six off him floating around my buddies yard and I have a gyp off him that’ll probably be going back to him soon

Sounds like you have a plan. I’m not sure where you’re located but in SC the only place I could find for AI is in Charleston. Next closest option was going to be Atlanta I believe. The place in Charleston seems super legitimate and experienced, breeding/pregnancy stuff is all they do. I have an appointment with them in the middle of September to get my young male’s semen frozen and collected before I really can start hunting him since there are no other males left with that blood.

In ETX around lufkin, there was a specialist around here but he moved back to Sweden, I do have a friend that has a lab kennel and she does her own AI’s and has been pretty successful so I’m gonna try bringing them to her
