WE HERE AT EAST TEXAS HOG DOGGERS DO NOT CLAIM TO BE EXPERT HOG HUNTERS. THIS IS SIMPLY MEANT TO BE A HELPFUL GUIDE FOR THOSE JUST GETTING STARTED. THE BEST ADVICE ANYONE CAN GIVE A BEGINNER IS TO HUNT WITH EXPERIENCED, ETHICAL HUNTERS WHO WILL SHOW THEM THE RIGHT WAY TO DO THINGS.
CARDINAL RULES
1.) LISTEN TO THOSE WITH YOU WHO HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE.
2.) PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT IS GOING ON AT ALL TIMES. A HUNT IS NO PLACE FOR DAYDREAMING, AND COULD LEAD TO BIG PROBLEMS.
3.) THINGS CAN HAPPEN VERY FAST, BE READY TO HELP IF NEEDED.
4.) RESPECT THE LAND AND TREAT IT LIKE IT WERE YOUR OWN
5.) NEVER HANDLE OR DISCIPLINE ANOTHER HUNTERS DOG UNLESS YOU KNOW IT IS OKAY BY THEM.
6.) ALWAYS CLEAR ANY DOGS YOU BRING WITH THE PERSON WHO INVITES YOU ON THE HUNT.
7.) DO NOT SHOW UP TO HUNT WITH ANY UNINVITED GUESTS OR DOGS.
HELPFUL ITEMS TO HAVE ON HAND
